Job summary

Conquip Engineering Group in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking a Workshop Operative to maintain, service and repair Conquip OEM equipment within a busy workshop. You will help uphold safety, quality and operational standards across our hire fleet.

The role involves repairs and setup of non-mechanical plant, basic MIG welding, spray painting, and completing documentation. You’ll work Monday to Friday, 7:30–17:00, with a focus on teamwork, accuracy and a proactive attitude in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
  • Good planning and organisational skills.
  • Welding Experience.
  • Forklift experience (Can be Trained)

Responsibilities

  • Carry out repairs, servicing and setup of Conquip OEM equipment, primarily non-mechanical plant and machinery.
  • Undertake basic MIG welding tasks as required
  • Spray paint equipment when necessary
  • Complete computer-based tasks including certification and documentation
  • Follow daily work schedules set by your line manager
  • Operate counterbalance forklifts and overhead cranes safely and efficiently
  • Conduct thorough inspections of lifting equipment and sign off in accordance with LOLER regulations
  • Maintain a professional and courteous approach when liaising with colleagues and site personnel
  • Adopt a flexible attitude towards working hours when required
  • Support the wider team with additional tasks as needed

Main Purpose of the Role
