Qualifications

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles or 6S.
  • Relevant engineering or manufacturing qualification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform brazing operations on components and assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings, work instructions, and company standards.
  • Prepare materials and components prior to brazing, ensuring all surfaces are clean and fit for purpose.
  • Assemble parts accurately before brazing to ensure correct alignment and fit.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
  • Identify defects, non-conformances, or potential quality concerns and escape as appropriate.
  • Maintain a "Right First Time" approach to minimise rework and scrap.
  • Ensure production targets are achieved whilst maintaining quality standards.
  • Complete all production documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Support root cause investigations relating to quality or production issues when required.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across manufacturing departments.
  • Participate in team meetings and improvement activities.
  • Support the training and development of new team members where requested.
  • Contribute ideas to improve productivity, quality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in supporting other manufacturing activities as business needs require.

Workshop Manufacturing Operative

Diss, Norfolk

The working hours for this role are Monday to Thursday 07.30 to 16.30 & Friday 07.30 to 13.30

We are proud to be working on behalf of our prestigious and world-known manufacturing client based in Diss. This client has a new Temporary to permanent opportunity available in their workshop The successful candidate will have previous experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings in a workshop, manufacturing or production assembly environment. The successful candidate will be put through an internal qualification on brazing specific to the industry they work within

Position Overview:

The operative is responsible for the preparation, assembly, and brazing of components and sub-assemblies in accordance with engineering specifications, quality standards, and production schedules. Working as part of the manufacturing team, the role requires a high level of attention to detail, manual dexterity, and commitment to producing high-quality products safely and efficiently.

The role contributes directly to departmental productivity, quality, and continuous improvement objectives while supporting a culture of safety, teamwork, and operational excellence.

Skills & Experience
  • Experience working within a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in brazing, soldering, welding, or similar would be beneficial but not essential
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and work instructions.
