Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Carry out low-temperature silver brazing and high-temperature brass brazing.
  • Perform arc welding on various steel components.
  • Set and operate spot welding equipment.
  • Conduct visual inspections and quality checks.

Job description

Start Date: ASAP (notice periods considered)

This role would suit candidates with experience in brazing, TIG welding, fabrication or precision engineering who enjoy working on complex assemblies to exacting aerospace standards. Syntech Recruitment is working exclusively with a highly respected UK aerospace and defence manufacturer, known for producing safety-critical, life-saving equipment. As a Brazer / Welder, you'll play a key role in manufacturing and repairing precision-engineered components used within world-leading aerospace products, where quality, accuracy and consistency are critical.

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday: 8:00am - 5:00pm Friday: 8:00am - 12:00pm Overtime available at 1.5x basic rates

Brazer / Welder – Responsibilities
  • Carrying out low-temperature silver brazing and high-temperature brass brazing on pipes, fittings and sub-assemblies
  • Performing arc welding, including TIG welding, on aluminium, stainless steel and mild steel components
  • Working from engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications
  • Setting and operating spot welding equipment
  • Preparing components through deburring, polishing and cleaning processes
  • Carrying out visual inspections and quality checks, including ball bearing testing where required
  • Supporting development work, including proof-of-concept welding activities
  • Assisting with welding and fabrication tasks across production and maintenance when required
Brazer / Welder – Requirements
  • Previous experience in brazing and arc welding within an engineering or manufacturing environment
  • TIG welding experience
  • Experience working with aluminium, stainless steel and mild steel
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Competent using workshop equipment, hand tools and measuring equipment
  • Welding qualifications or certifications would be advantageous
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
