Job summary

Auto Skills UK is seeking a HGV Workshop Shift Supervisor to oversee technicians and coordinate workshop activities in a busy commercial vehicle operation. Salary £63,000 - £67,500 (DOE) with overtime; 45 hours per week and rotating earlies/lates plus alternating Saturdays.

The role involves supervising workloads, coordinating with management on staffing and KPIs, and assisting with diagnostics and complex repairs to maintain high standards of servicing.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical, electrical and diagnostic skills.
• Experience with heavy vehicles advantageous.
• Experience supervising or coordinating technicians is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise shift technicians and allocate workloads.
• Liaise with Dealerpoint Manager on staffing and KPIs.
• Assist technicians with diagnostics and complex repairs.

HGV WORKSHOP SHIFT SUPERVISOR

We are recruiting for an HGV Workshop Shift Supervisor to oversee technicians and coordinate workshop activities within a busy commercial vehicle operation.

Salary: £63,000 - £67,500 (DOE) + Overtime

Hours: 45 hours per week

Shifts: Rotating earlies and lates + alternating Saturdays

Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent

The Role

• Supervising shift technicians and allocating workloads effectively
• Liaising with the Dealerpoint Manager regarding staffing, training requirements and KPIs
• Supporting technicians with vehicle diagnostics and complex repairs
• Ensuring servicing and maintenance are completed to a high standard
• Using diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve faults
• Carry out scheduled safety inspections and report any rectifications required

What We're Looking For

• City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, or equivalent
• Strong mechanical, electrical and diagnostic skills
• Previous HGV or commercial vehicle maintenance experience
• Experience supporting, supervising or coordinating technicians would be advantageous
• Good understanding of workshop health and safety requirements
