Job summary

Kemp Recruitment Ltd in Aldridge is seeking a Workshop Forklift Engineer to join their team. Basic salary £30,000 - £37,000 and hours 8am-5pm, Monday to Friday (40hrs). You will service, maintain and repair forklift trucks and material handling equipment, with emphasis on diesel engines and diagnostics.

The role requires independent work, a full UK driving licence, and a customer‑focused approach. LOLER inspections, safety checks and timely parts sourcing are part of the job.

Qualifications

• Experience as forklift engineer or similar.
• Proven experience of diesel engines.
• Strong experience with electrics, hydraulics and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.
• Professional, reliable and customer-focused attitude.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Perform servicing, maintenance and repair work on forklift trucks and equipment.
• Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues.
• Carry out LOLER inspections to ensure compliance.
• Complete safety checks and pre-delivery inspections.
• Respond to breakdowns and perform reactive maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Organise and manage workload and service schedule.
• Accurately fill out service reports and job sheets.
• Communicate with parts departments to source correct components.

Job Title: Wrokshop Forklift Engineer

Basic Salary: £30,000 - £37,000

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm (40hrs)

Location: Aldridge

Your responsibilities will include:

• Performing servicing, maintenance and repair work on a broad range of forklift trucks and material handling equipment
• Identifying and resolving mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues
• Carrying out LOLER inspections to ensure all equipment remains fully compliant
• Completing safety checks and pre-delivery inspections
• Responding to breakdowns and conducting reactive maintenance to reduce customer downtime
• Effectively organising and managing your workload and service schedule
• Accurately filling out service reports and job sheets
• Communicating with parts departments to ensure the correct components are sourced and installed

What you’ll need:

• Experience as a Forklift engineer / Material handling mechanic / Plant Fitter or similar
• Proven experience of diesel engines
• Strong experience with electrics, hydraulics and diagnostic skills
• Ability to work independently and manage workload
• A professional, reliable and customer-focused attitude
• Full UK driving licence
