Job summary

Apex Appoint is seeking an experienced Forklift Engineer to join its workshop-based team. You will maintain a modern fleet, service and repair forklifts, and work with the operations team to maximise uptime.

You will be responsible for diagnosing faults, carrying out preventive maintenance, keeping accurate records, and ensuring a clean, safe workshop environment. A full UK driving licence is required; forklift experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience servicing, maintaining and repairing forklifts, plant or material handling equipment.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and basic electrical fault-finding skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload; good organisational and communication skills.
• Forklift licence would be advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

Monday to Friday | 40 hours per week | Flexible start/finish times

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Forklift Engineer to join a well-established business maintaining its own fleet of specialist forklifts.

This is a workshop-based role where you'll take ownership of the maintenance, servicing and repair of a modern fleet, working closely with the operations team to ensure maximum uptime across the business.

The Role

• Service, repair and maintain a fleet of side loader forklifts
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and inspections
• Ensure all equipment is maintained to a safe and reliable standard
• Manage workshop stock and order replacement parts when required
• Complete maintenance records accurately
• Liaise with operational teams to minimise downtime
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop

About You

You'll ideally have experience working on forklifts, plant machinery or similar mobile equipment.

• Experience servicing, maintaining and repairing forklifts, plant or material handling equipment
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and basic electrical fault-finding skills
• The ability to work independently and manage your own workloadGood organisational and communication skills
• A proactive approach to maintenance and problem solving
• A full UK driving licence

A forklift licence would be advantageous but isn't essential.
