Job summary

Kautec Recruitment is seeking an experienced Workshop Fitter for a busy on-site workshop in the Darenth area. You will be responsible for maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on heavy goods and municipal vehicles, with a focus on safety and reliability.

The role offers early and late shifts with a salary of £46,000–£57,000 basic, along with training on new products including IRTEC courses and EV qualifications.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified by City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent.
• Additional accreditations such as IRTEC or EV qualification would be desirable.

Responsibilities

• Routine and preventative maintenance on heavy goods vehicles and municipal vehicles.
• MOT preparation and DVSA standard servicing.
• Chassis, fabrication, hydraulics and electrical inspections and corrections.
• Diagnostics, electrical and wiring inspections and corrections.

Job description

Workshop Fitter - Early and late shifts available

£46000 - £57000 basic

This is a new opportunity for an experienced Vehicle Engineer who wishes to operate in a high quality workshop.

You can expect to be trained on new products and put through the required courses such as Irtec.

Your working days will be diverse and interesting, no 2 days will be the same.

You could be working on main dealer heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) hook loaders, Municipal Vehicles (Gritters, Dust Carts, Sweepers) and tippers-

• Routine (and preventative) maintenance
• MOT preparation
• Scheduled servicing to DVSA standards
• 6 (or 8) weekly inspections
• Correction of running defects
• Chassis and fabrication work
• Hydraulics and pneumatics
• Improvement of vehicle standards
• Electrical and wiring inspections and corrections

Ideally you will be fully qualified (City & Guilds), NVQ or equivalent.

Additional accreditations such as IRTEC or EV qualification would be desirable, as would a HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence.
