Job summary

Recruit4staff are representing a leading manufacturing company in Basildon, recruiting a Workshop Fitter to carry out tractor driveline removal, installation and modifications, plus preparation for engineering tests. You will diagnose, repair and maintain mechanical issues, fit instrumentation, support test engineers, and upload reports.

Full UK driving licence is essential; candidates with automotive or commercial vehicle experience encouraged; Monday-Thursday 7am-4pm, Friday 12pm finish;

Qualifications

• Must have fitting/vehicle technician experience.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Able to remove, replace and modify mechanical assemblies.
• Demonstrates mechanical fault finding and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Completing tractor driveline removal, installation & modifications.
• Preparation of tractors for engineering tests.
• Conduct fitting, vehicle instrumentation & testing work.
• Supporting test engineers in line with project timescales.
• Troubleshooting tractor faults and test failures.
• Completing all associated paperwork and uploading reports.

Workshop Fitter

Recruit4staff are proud to be representing their client, a well-known manufacturing company in their search for a Workshop Fitter to work in their leading facility in Basildon.

• Hourly rate of £15 - £16 per hour depending on experience
• Monday - Thursday 7am-4pm with a 12pm finish on Fridays
• Potential Overtime opportunities
• Ongoing project - Will last until the end of year at least, but could extend
• Free on site parking

The role - Workshop Fitter:

• Completing tractor driveline removal, installation & modifications
• Preparation of Tractors for engineering tests
• Conduct Fitting, vehicle instrumentation & testing work
• Supporting test engineers in line with agreed project timescales
• Supporting with troubleshooting tractor faults & test failures
• Completing all associated paperwork
• Uploading reports into the customers reporting system
• Diagnose, repair and maintain mechanical issues

What the client is looking for in a Workshop Fitter:

• Full UK Licence - Essential
• Must demonstrate suitable Fitting/Vehicle Technician based experience
• Able to remove, replace and modify mechanical assemblies
• Demonstrates mechanical fault finding & troubleshooting skills
• Able to work from drawings
• IT literate
• Were looking for candidates who have either: Automotive, Commercial Vehicle, Vehicle Fitting, Agricultural experience
