Job summary

Mane Contract Services is recruiting experienced Workshop / Vehicle Development Technicians in Basildon, Essex to support tractor development and testing for a leading agricultural vehicle manufacturer.

You will prepare, modify and maintain development tractors, install driveline components, and support testing while following health and safety procedures.

The role requires hands-on mechanical fitting, fault finding and reporting, with a valid UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Experience as a workshop or vehicle technician with hands-on fitting.
• Experience with driveline and powertrain systems.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.
• Ability to read technical docs and produce clear reports.
• Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK.
• Good spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

Workshop / Vehicle Development Technicians - Basildon, Essex

We are currently recruiting experienced Workshop / Vehicle Development Technicians to support tractor development and testing for a leading agricultural vehicle manufacturer based in Basildon.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, modify and maintain development tractors


• Remove, install and modify driveline and powertrain components


• Support vehicle testing and engineering activities


• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults


• Complete technical reports and document test results


• Work closely with test engineers while following health & safety procedures

Requirements

• Strong mechanical fitting or vehicle technician experience


• Experience with driveline, transmission or powertrain systems


• Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills


• Ability to read technical documentation and complete reports


• Full UK driving licence


• Right to work in the UK


• Good level of spoken and written English

Desirable

• Agricultural, commercial vehicle, HGV, construction equipment or off-highway machinery experience


• Prototype/development workshop experience


• CANalyzer/CANcase or vehicle instrumentation experience

Hours

• Monday-Thursday: 07:00-16:00


• Friday: 07:00-12:00


• Overtime and Saturday work available depending on workload
