Job summary

Recruit4staff are representing a well-known manufacturing company seeking a Workshop Fitter to join their Basildon facility. You will perform tractor driveline work, prepare tractors for tests, diagnose and repair mechanical issues, and support with reporting.

The role offers £15–£16 per hour, Monday-Thursday 7am-4pm with a 12pm finish on Fridays, on-site parking and potential overtime opportunities. The assignment is ongoing and could extend beyond year-end.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full UK driving licence and have fitting/vehicle technician experience.
• Ability to remove, replace and modify mechanical assemblies and work from drawings.
• Proficient troubleshooting and fault-finding on mechanical systems.
• IT literate with ability to upload reports to systems.

Responsibilities

• Complete tractor driveline removal, installation and modifications.
• Prepare tractors for engineering tests and conduct fitting and testing work.
• Support test engineers and troubleshoot tractor faults and test failures.
• Complete paperwork and upload reports to the customer system.
