Job summary

Hydro International in the United Kingdom is seeking a skilled Workshop Engineer to join our wastewater services team based in Portland, Dorset. You will service, fault find, repair and rebuild a range of industrial and wastewater treatment equipment, with a mix of workshop work and occasional site travel across the UK.

The successful candidate will have a recognised mechanical apprenticeship, City & Guilds or equivalent, strong fault-finding skills, and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining and repairing industrial mechanical equipment.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain mechanical and industrial equipment.
• Strip, inspect, rebuild, and refurbish machinery, pumps and heavy equipment.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities.
• Diagnose faults and undertake repairs down to component level.
• Conduct site inspections and prepare survey reports where required.
• Work safely and effectively in both workshop and customer sites.
• Access and interpret technical instructions using electronic devices.
• Collaborate with colleagues and other trades to deliver high-quality work and customer service.
