Job summary

Hydro International, a CRH Company, is seeking a skilled Workshop Engineer to join our wastewater services team. This role combines workshop-based maintenance with occasional field visits to client sites across the UK, offering variety and development opportunities.

You will service, fault-find, repair and rebuild industrial and wastewater equipment, with emphasis on safety, quality, and collaboration within our engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Recognised mechanical apprenticeship.
• City & Guilds qualification or equivalent.
• Experience maintaining and repairing industrial mechanical equipment.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of industrial mechanical installation and maintenance.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain mechanical and industrial equipment.
• Strip, inspect, rebuild, and refurbish machinery, pumps, and heavy industrial equipment.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities.
• Diagnose faults and undertake repairs down to component level.
• Conduct site inspections and prepare survey reports where required.
• Work safely and effectively both in the workshop and on customer sites.
• Access and interpret technical instructions using electronic devices.
• Collaborate with colleagues and other trades to deliver high-quality work and customer service.
