Job summary

NEOS Engineering Recruitment are seeking a Plant Fitter in Luton to service, maintain and repair cranes, piling rigs, and heavy plant machinery. The role offers £20-£22 per hour plus overtime and benefits, working within a busy workshop environment.

Ideal candidates have a background as Workshop Engineer or Heavy Plant Engineer, with strong mechanical and hydraulic fault-finding skills. Electrical knowledge is advantageous and relevant qualifications are welcomed.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Workshop Engineer or Heavy Plant Engineer is required.
• Experience on Heavy Plant equipment such as cranes, piling rigs, excavators is desirable.
• Strong mechanical and hydraulic fault-finding skills; electrical knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on cranes, piling rigs, and heavy plant machinery.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections.
• Work on a range of specialist construction equipment in a workshop environment.
• Identify faults and ensure machinery is maintained to a high standard.
• Collaborate with an experienced engineering team.

NEOS Engineering Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Workshop Engineer / Heavy Plant Engineer to join a well-established and leading organization within the construction and heavy plant industry, based in Luton.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Engineer to join a business operating an extensive fleet of specialist construction equipment, including Cranes, Piling Rigs and Heavy Plant Machinery.

Previous experience working on Cranes or Piling Rigs is NOT essential. Engineers with a background in Heavy Plant, Construction Equipment, Agricultural Machinery or similar industries are strongly encouraged to apply, as the skills are highly transferable.

The Role

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on Cranes, Piling Rigs and Heavy Plant Machinery.
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
• Conducting preventative maintenance and routine inspections.
• Working on a range of specialist construction equipment within a workshop environment.
• Identifying faults and ensuring machinery is maintained to a high standard.
• Working alongside an experienced engineering team.

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience as a Workshop Engineer, Heavy Plant Engineer, Plant Fitter, Construction Plant Engineer or similar.
• Experience working on Heavy Plant equipment such as Excavators, Dumpers, Telehandlers, Cranes, Piling Rigs or Agricultural Machinery.
• Strong mechanical and hydraulic fault-finding skills.
• Electrical knowledge would be advantageous.
• A recognised engineering qualification or apprenticeship would be beneficial.
• No previous Crane or Piling Rig experience required - Heavy Plant Engineers are encouraged to apply.
