Job summary

Perfect Placement is seeking a qualified and experienced Workshop Controller to join a reputable dealership in Southend, Essex. You will lead a team of technicians and oversee workshop operations to deliver high levels of customer satisfaction and efficiency.

The role offers a competitive basic salary of £38,000 per annum with OTE up to £55,000, Monday to Friday 8:00 am–6:00 pm, and a Saturday on a 1-in-3 rota. A proactive, quality-minded approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Workshop Controller or in a similar supervisory role within a dealership or automotive workshop.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Automotive technical knowledge and understanding of workshop processes.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a team of 19 technicians, ensuring efficient workflow and productivity.
• Manage workshop operations to deliver high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Organise daily work schedules and allocate tasks to technicians.
• Ensure workshop targets and KPIs are achieved or exceeded.
• Liaise with reception and service advisors to provide accurate customer updates and technical explanations.
• Maintain high standards of workshop organisation, safety, and quality.
