KBM Resourcing in Aberdeen is seeking a practical Workshop Assistant to join a busy operation. The role involves servicing and preparing equipment, working with a team, and developing practical skills within a supportive workshop environment.

You will work 37.5 hours per week, 8:00am–4:00pm, with on-the-job training provided. Experience with power tools is essential; forklift/B2 ticket is advantageous, and good communication and organisation are important to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with equipment inventories before and after jobs.
  • Handling receipt and dispatch of equipment.
  • Supporting packaging, load-outs and safe container loading.
  • Using power tools to complete tasks.
  • Assisting with materials ordering and related documentation.
  • Keeping the workshop clean, organised and safe.
  • Collaborating with other teams to meet deadlines.
  • Attending other sites when required.
  • Participating in the on-call rota.
  • Following quality, health, safety and environmental procedures.

Workshop Assistant – Aberdeen

Salary: Circa £27,000, depending on experience

Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm, 37.5 hours per week

Location: Aberdeen

An opportunity has arisen for a Workshop Assistant to join a busy and well-established operation in Aberdeen. This is a hands-on role that would suit someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in doing a job properly and is keen to develop their skills within a supportive workshop environment.

Working alongside an experienced team, the successful candidate will help ensure specialist equipment is serviced, maintained, prepared and ready for use. On-the-job training will be provided to build knowledge of the equipment and associated processes.

The Role

Day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Servicing, maintaining, assembling and disassembling equipment
  • Carrying out practical workshop activities including pressure testing, paint spraying and shot blasting
  • Preparing equipment for jobs and ensuring it is maintained to a high standard
  • Assisting with equipment inventories before and after jobs
  • Handling the receipt and dispatch of equipment
  • Supporting equipment packaging, load-outs and safe container loading
  • Using power tools to complete workshop tasks
  • Assisting with materials ordering and relevant documentation
  • Keeping the workshop clean, organised and safe
  • Working with other teams to help meet operational requirements and deadlines

  • Following all quality, health, safety and environmental procedures
About You

They are looking for someone who is practical, reliable and comfortable working in a hands-on environment. The successful candidate will be a strong team player while also being capable of using their own initiative and taking responsibility for assigned tasks.

Experience using power tools is essential. Previous experience within a workshop, warehouse, equipment maintenance or servicing environment would be advantageous, although it is not essential.

Experience or knowledge in areas such as paint spraying, valves and fittings would also be beneficial. A forklift licence, particularly B2 certification, would be an advantage.

Candidates should have good communication and organisational skills, be able to follow instructions accurately and be comfortable working to deadlines. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, are also required.

What’s on Offer

The position offers a salary of circa £27,000 depending on experience, working 8:00am–4:00pm across a 37.5-hour week.
