Job summary

Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking a Workshop Assistant for the Transport Section at Dudley Council's Lister Road depot in Dudley. You will support the Fleet Supervisor with maintenance tasks, minor repairs, and general workshop duties.

Role requires NVQ Level Two in Automotive Maintenance (or willingness to obtain) and LGV Cat C licence. Onsite full-time position with right to work in the UK verification.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level Two in Automotive Maintenance or equivalent.
• Willing to obtain NVQ Level Two if not held; LGV Category C licence required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in general duties in Transport Maintenance, incl. minor defect repairs.
• Perform workshop cleaning duties and maintain tidiness.
• Collect and deliver vehicles and collect spare parts.
• Assist with vehicle breakdowns as needed.

We are seeking to recruit a Workshop Assistant based within the Transport Section at Dudley Council's Lister Road depot in Dudley.

Reporting to the Fleet Supervisor, you will assist in general duties associated with the Transport Maintenance operation, including performing minor defect repairs, general cleaning duties within the workshop, collection and delivery of vehicles, collection of spare parts and assistance with vehicle breakdowns.

You must hold an NVQ Level Two in Automotive Maintenance or equivalent, (or be prepared to obtain this qualification) and an LGV Category C driving licence

Workplace Attendance: Onsite full time
