Job summary

Dudley Council is seeking a Workshop Assistant within the Transport Section at the Lister Road depot in Dudley. Reporting to the Fleet Supervisor, you will assist in general duties in the Transport Maintenance operation, including minor defect repairs, workshop cleaning, vehicle collection and delivery, and parts collection.

You must hold an NVQ Level Two in Automotive Maintenance or equivalent (or be prepared to obtain this qualification) and an LGV Category C driving licence.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level Two in Automotive Maintenance or equivalent.
• Prepared to obtain this qualification.
• LGV Category C driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Assist in general duties in the Transport Maintenance operation.
• Perform minor defect repairs.
• General cleaning duties within the workshop.
• Collection and delivery of vehicles.
• Collection of spare parts.
• Assistance with vehicle breakdowns.
