Job summary

Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent is seeking a lifestyle coach within the Health, Wellbeing and Experience Team to support health goals for employees. You will work one-to-one, using motivational interviewing and connect people with community and digital resources.

Role involves travelling between sites, collaborating with partners across the Integrated Care System, and keeping up-to-date with health and wellbeing developments.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the core principles of behaviour change and how to apply them in practice.
• Knowledge of how lifestyle risk factors affect mental and physical wellbeing and how to self-manage conditions.
• Knowledge of national health improvement guidelines on physical activity, nutrition, sleep, smoking and alcohol.
• Knowledge of social determinants of health and their impact on health.
• Ability to communicate complex information by telephone, email and face to face, with good keyboard skills.
• Experience of working in one-to-one settings with clients.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one lifestyle coaching to identify needs and set SMART goals.
• Coach employees through sessions, building goals on small successes.
• Support employees to manage health through evidence-based approaches.
• Help access community and digital support on diet, activity and motivation.
• Promote initiatives for healthier workforces and work with system stakeholders.
• Travel between sites across the footprint and manage own caseload.
