Job summary

DXC Technology is seeking a Workplace Deployment Engineer to join our onsite team in Yeovil, delivering desktop, laptop and VDI deployments and end-user support in a secure environment. The role is a full-time 37.5-hour week with potential overtime and on-call duties.

Job description

Job Description: Help keep technology moving in a secure environment At DXC Technology, we support some of the UK's most important and security-sensitive organisations, and we're looking for a Workplace Deployment Engineer to join our team onsite in Yeovil. This is a hands-on role where you'll play an important part in making sure our client's people have the technology they need to do their jobs. You'll be responsible for preparing, configuring and deploying desktops, laptops and VDI devices, as well as supporting smartphones and helping with wider IT projects. You'll work closely with the onsite 2nd Line support team, so there will also be opportunities to build your wider technical knowledge across desktop, VDI and end-user support. This is a full-time, position working a 37.5-hour week Monday to Friday. The ideal candidate will be required to have a flexible approach as overtime and on-call duties may be required. Due to the nature of the work and the customers we support, the successful candidate must be eligible to meet UK Government and contractual personnel security requirements, including the applicable residency requirements for the role, and have the right to work in the United Kingdom. Some roles may also be subject to nationality requirements where these are necessary to meet UK Government or contractual security obligations.

What we're looking for:
  • Microsoft Windows 10, and 11 Operating Systems – Deployment, configuration, and support
  • Support Microsoft Office 2016 onwards
  • Basic Knowledge of Microsoft SCCM and OS / Application deployment
  • Good verbal communication with an ability to communicate to all levels
  • Good written communication: concise and accurate call logging, documentation, and email correspondence
  • Good time management / organisational skills
  • Work well as part of a team or independently
Desirable skills / qualifications:
  • Microsoft Windows 10 and / or 11 training, certification, and experience
  • Active Directory administration
  • Understanding of Microsoft SCCM
  • Experience of Microsoft Entra
  • Experience of Trellix EPO and client-side agents
  • Experience of client-side Wi-Fi configuration and troubleshooting
  • Experience of Windows Security configuration
  • Experience of client encryption and VPN - Trellix, BitLocker, Cisco, F5 and Zscaler
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Willing to learn new skills and technologies
  • Clean full driving license
