Job summary

Belfast City Council is seeking a permanent, full-time Fabric Maintenance Officer to support the day-to-day delivery, coordination and monitoring of the fabric maintenance programme for council assets.

Reporting to the Assistant Programme Manager (Fabric), you will organise and supervise the direct labour force, manage contracted services, and carry out pre- and post-inspections to ensure quality and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day delivery, coordination and monitoring of the fabric maintenance programme.
• Organise, deploy and supervise the direct labour force within the section.
• Liaise with colleagues, building occupiers and contractors to support operations.
• Manage assigned contracted services for fabric projects and ensure compliance.
• Pre- and post-inspection of works to verify quality and workmanship.

To be responsible to the Assistant Programme Manager (Fabric) for:

• Assisting with the day-to-day delivery, co-ordination and monitoring of the fabric maintenance programme for council assets, along with relevant bespoke projects and reactive repairs.
• The organisation, deployment and supervision of the direct labour force within the section.
• Assisting in the efficient and effective running of the Property Maintenance operation generally, through liaison with colleagues across the service, the department and wider organisation, building occupiers, and contractors.
• The effective ongoing management and monitoring of assigned contracted services for fabric projects.
• Pre and post-inspection of the work of the direct labour force and assigned contracted services to ensure compliance with work specifications and quality of workmanship.
