Job summary

Lindum is seeking a Working Foreman/Forewoman with a background in bricklaying or joinery to oversee minor works projects from North Hykeham. The role focuses on supervising small extensions and refurbishments across Education, Retail, Commercial, and Residential sectors in Lincoln and surrounding areas.

You will manage site teams, coordinate works to the programme, and ensure safety and quality standards. Driving licence and SSSTS/SMSTS qualifications are advantageous.

Job description

Our Lindum BMS (Building Maintenance Services) division specialises in new build and refurbishment construction projects up to £2m, as well as planned and reactive minor works and maintenance jobs in the Lincoln area and surrounding regions.

An opportunity has arisen for a Working Foreman/Forewoman with a Joinery or Bricklayingbackground to join our busy minor works team based in North Hykeham, responsible for directly supervising minor construction projects such as small extensions and internal and external refurbishment works in various sectors to include Education, Retail, Commercial and Residential.

Requirements

• Experience in bricklaying to include laying bricks, blocks, and other masonry units to specification, construct walls, partitions, foundations and decorative brickwork, interpret drawings, plans, and specifications or experience in joinery background in first and/or second-fix joinery, installation and finishing work and carrying out repairs, alterations and refurbishment works. Experience in other trades would be an advantage.
• Ability to manage a site team and on-site labour is essential.
• You must be able to manage workload, organise and coordinate works according to a programme and construction drawings.
• Ability to work to the Group’s quality and safety standards. A current SSSTS or SMSTS qualification and other in-date safety training would be an advantage.
• You will have direct contact with clients and responsibility for instructing and motivating site teams, so the right attitude and people skills are essential.
• Full driving licence is essential as the role will involve travel to required site locations in the region.

Whilst supervisory experience is preferred, applications will also be accepted from experienced Bricklayers or Joiners with the right skills, who are looking to take the next step in their career into a supervisory role.

The position is full time (45 hours per week). Hours of work are 7.30am to 5.00pm. Occasional overtime may also be required.
