Job summary

C & C Contractors (London) Ltd is seeking an experienced General Builder / Working Foreman to oversee day-to-day on-site operations on projects in London and surrounding areas. You will organise resources to meet quality, programme and safety standards while remaining hands-on with trades.

The role requires a strong on-site leadership presence, the ability to liaise with contracts managers and surveyors, and to build solid relationships with clients.

Qualifications

  • Must have a trade qualification or served apprenticeship.
  • At least 5 years supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of the construction and refurbishment industry.
  • SMSTS or SSSTS (Essential)
  • Full UK Driving Licence (Essential)
  • DBS Check (Essential)
  • Able to read drawings / set out new work / good knowledge of building trades.
  • CSCS card is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day site organisation.
  • Deal with clients and ensure high quality and service.
  • Provide construction knowledge and guidance as required.
  • Report daily to contracts managers and surveyors.
  • Organise materials and liaise with the office.
  • Attend weekly progress and safety meetings.
  • Maintain health and safety standards on site and carry out inductions.
  • Organise and liaise with office to coordinate sub-contractors.
  • Check and record labour outputs against time sheets.
  • Ensure sub-contracted labour meets required standards.
  • Carry out and record weekly toolbox talks to labour and sub-contractors.
  • Manage construction site and ensure compliance with plans and safety targets.

Job description

Working hours 8am-5pm Monday to Friday with 1 hour paid lunch break.

We are a construction and refurbishment company based in Rainham Essex

Looking for an experienced and knowledgeable General Builder / Working Foreman to join our team to oversee the day-to-day on-site operations. We work in London and the surrounding areas delivering projects covering all aspects of construction and refurbishment.

You will be responsible for overseeing projects, organising resources to ensure all works meet the required quality, programme and safety standards as well as being hands on with the projects. You will need to have a very good knowledge of the construction industry and refurbishment projects as you will be overseeing all trades. This role will require you to build relationships with clients and contractors, whilst ensuring projects are run safely, efficiently and productively to the highest of standards. When needed you will be required to offer solutions to on site issues and liaise with the contracts managers and surveyors to provide operational support. A company vehicle will be provided, and a full UK driver’s licence is essential for this P.A.Y.E position.

The following skills are necessary:
  • Must have a trade qualification/served apprenticeship
  • At least 5 years supervisory experience
  • Construction knowledge and background
  • SMSTS (site managers safety training scheme) or SSSTS (Site supervisor safety training scheme) (Essential)
  • Full UK Drivers Licence (Essential)
  • Have or be able to pass DBS Check (Essential)
  • Good general health and safety knowledge
  • Read drawings / set out new work and have good knowledge of all building trades.
