Job summary

EA Associates is assisting a Norwich-based construction business to appoint an experienced Working Foreman with a strong carpentry background on a permanent basis.

This hands-on role requires you to lead by example, coordinate trades, and stay involved with carpentry work when needed. You will oversee day-to-day site operations, ensure safety, quality, and programme delivery, and mentor the site team on varied projects.

Qualifications

• Strong carpentry background and hands-on construction experience.
• Experience as Foreman, Working Foreman or Senior Carpenter.
• Good knowledge of general construction practices.
• Ability to lead and motivate a site team; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Supervising and coordinating trades and subcontractors on site.
• Working hands-on alongside the team when required.
• Carrying out carpentry and associated construction work.
• Ensuring work is completed to a high standard and in line with project requirements.
• Managing day-to-day site activities and coordinating labour.
• Monitoring health & safety and maintaining a safe working environment.
• Liaising with Site Managers, Project Managers and subcontractors.
• Helping to keep projects on programme and within agreed standards.
• Checking quality of workmanship and resolving issues on site.
• Supporting the wider site team to ensure smooth project delivery.
