Job summary

Time Recruitment Solutions Ltd is looking for a Working Foreman to join a specialist contractor handling heritage, restoration and listed building projects. Location is Manchester/ Yorkshire with travel to sites across the region; salary from £20.00 per hour.

You will oversee day-to-day site activities, lead operatives and subcontractors, ensure safety and quality, and help coordinate resources while supporting site reporting and variations. Training and development are emphasized.

Qualifications

  • Experience as Working Foreman or Site Supervisor.
  • Experience in restoration, refurbishment, structural alteration, demolition, or construction.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel across Yorkshire, Leeds, Manchester and surrounding areas.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing day-to-day site activities while remaining hands-on where required.
  • Managing operatives and subcontractors on site.
  • Ensuring health & safety standards are maintained at all times.
  • Coordinating labour, materials, and resources.
  • Assisting with site documentation and reporting.

Working Foreman - Heritage & Listed Building Restoration

Location: Manchester / Yorkshire (with travel to sites across the region)

Salary: From £20.00 an hour

Working closely with the Contracts Manager, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of projects, supporting site operations and ensuring works are carried out safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day site activities while remaining hands‑on where required.

Projects typically involve:
  • Heritage and listed building restoration
  • Structural alterations
  • Steelwork installations
  • Demolition works
  • Building refurbishment and restoration
Key Responsibilities
  • Managing operatives and subcontractors on site

  • Conducting site inspections and signing off completed works
  • Coordinating labour, materials, and resources
  • Assisting with site documentation and reporting
  • Supporting the management of project variations

Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Working Foreman, Site Supervisor, or similar
  • Experience within restoration, refurbishment, structural alteration, demolition, or construction projects
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to travel across Yorkshire, Leeds, Manchester, and surrounding areas
  • SMSTS or SSSTS certification
  • First Aid qualification
  • PASMA qualification
  • Full UK driving licence
