Job summary

A.D.S Construction Personnel Ltd is seeking a Working Foreman to lead day‑to‑day site operations on projects up to £1m across Home Counties and surrounding regions. You will coordinate a trades team, manage materials, and ensure works progress to programme while maintaining quality and safety standards.

The role requires a trade background, CSCS and SSSTS qualifications, and a valid UK driving licence. A van is provided and there are development opportunities within a long‑standing family

Qualifications

• In‑date CSCS card and a recognised qualification (NVQ, HNC/HND, degree or equivalent).
• SSSTS qualification held.
• First Aid at Work certification.
• Full UK driving licence held.
• Uniform and PPE on site must be worn as issued by the company.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage the daily site schedule for the team.
• Place orders for equipment and materials as needed.
• Engage subcontractors with management approval.
• Allocate tasks across the team to maximise productivity.
• Ensure work progresses to programme and meets client specifications.
• Keep management updated on project progress and risks.
• Ensure work is completed on time and to required standards.
• Maintain safe working practices and site safety compliance.

About the Client

Our client is a long‑established, family‑owned construction business with over 150 years of history, delivering high‑quality projects across commercial, education, industrial, heritage, blue light and leisure sectors.

They operate across the Home Counties, Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire, Oxfordshire and North London, delivering schemes through two divisions: Small Works & Frameworks (up to £1m) and Main Contracts (up to £15m).

This role sits within their Small Works & Frameworks division, delivering projects up to £1m. The Working Foreman coordinates daily site activity, maintains safe and orderly working practices, and works closely with the Small Works & Frameworks Contracts Manager to ensure projects progress to programme, specification and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and manage the working schedule for the team
• Place orders for required equipment and materials
• Engage subcontractors when needed, with management approval
• Allocate tasks appropriately across the team
• Ensure work progresses efficiently and to programme
• Keep management updated on project development
• Ensure works are completed on or before deadlines
• Maintain safe systems of work and ensure all operatives follow required standards
• Ensure projects are completed to the specification and quality required by the client

Skills & Experience

• Strong knowledge of health and safety protocols
• Familiarity with industry ISO standards
• Confident communicator with clients and stakeholders across various sectors
• Excellent organisational, prioritisation and communication skills
• Trade background

Qualifications & Requirements

• In‑date CSCS card supported by a recognised qualification (NVQ, HNC/HND, degree or equivalent)

• Required to wear company‑issued uniform and PPE on site

Security, Vetting & Right to Work

• Must have full right to work in the UK
• Must have been continuously resident in the UK for the past 5 years to meet client vetting requirements
• Must be willing to undertake DBS, BPSS or client‑led security checks where required
• Must be willing to discuss any matters relevant to vetting as part of the process
• Must be able to maintain the vetting standards required for regulated sites
