Job summary

Kier Group plc. is seeking a Working Electrical Supervisor for our WAAP team in Thames Valley. The role involves hands-on electrical installation works on Thames Water sites, supervising Kier electricians, and ensuring compliance with safety and asset standards.

The successful candidate will contribute to building a self-delivery team, with experience in the water industry, LV systems, and electrical testing. Site-based role with some flexibility in hours.

Qualifications

• Full driving licence required.
• JIB Gold Card or ECS card for electrical work.
• C&G 2330 or 2360 in electrical installations.
• NVQ Level 3 in electrical installations.
• IEE 18th edition wiring regulations.
• SMSTS qualification.
• Confined Spaces qualification.
• C&G 2391 Inspect and Test.

Responsibilities

• Installing low-voltage electrical systems, including temporary and permanent works, containment systems, power and control cables, and testing installations.
• Supervising Kier electricians and mentoring electrical apprentices.
• Producing and reviewing RAMS, managing project ITPs, and maintaining electrical safety documentation.
• Providing safe isolations of LV systems and issuing Permit to Work and Isolation Certificates.
• Conducting electrical audits and ensuring installations meet Thames Water asset standards.

Job description

We're looking for a Working Electrical Supervisor to join our Wastewater Asset Assurance Programme (WAAP) team based in Thames Valley. Location: Thames Valley - Site Based. Hours: 45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

As a Working Electrical Supervisor, you'll carry out hands-on electrical installation works on Thames Water sites for both permanent and temporary installs. You'll supervise other Kier electricians ensuring their works meet the appropriate standards, and carry out electrical inspection and testing. You'll form an early cornerstone for a developing self-delivery team, complementing our already established MEICA delivery team. Kier is a strategic partner to Thames Water, providing design and build services for new and existing infrastructure and non-infrastructure assets.

What will you be responsible for?

• Installing low-voltage electrical systems, including temporary and permanent works, containment systems, power and control cables, and testing installations
• Supervising Kier electricians and providing mentorship to electrical apprentices

What are we looking for?

• You hold a Full driving licence and have a relevant JIB Gold Card or ECS card
• You have C&G 2330 or 2360 in electrical installations, NVQ Level 3 in electrical installations, and IEE 18th edition wiring regulations
• You hold SMSTS, Confined Spaces, and C&G 2391 Inspect and Test qualifications
• You have demonstrable experience in the Water Industry with strong judgement and problem-solving skills
• You have a good working knowledge of sewage and water treatment processes, systems, and typical M&E plant and equipment
