Job summary

Pets at Home is seeking a Workforce Management Lead to shape planning, deployment and optimisation of our retail workforce across the UK. This hybrid role sits between Support Office and Pet Care Centres, focusing on forecasting, productivity and data-driven decision making to improve colleague experience and store performance.

You’ll collaborate with Retail Operations, Finance, People and Digital teams, using Rotageek, Excel and Power BI to deliver insights, dashboards and sustainable labour

Qualifications

• Experience in Workforce Management, Resource Planning or Operational Excellence.
• Strong forecasting, scheduling or resource planning in a fast-paced environment.
• Advanced analytical skills with Excel/Power BI or equivalent tools.
• Proven ability to deliver productivity improvements and influence teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop workforce planning and forecasting models aligned with customer demand and trading patterns.
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity and labour efficiency through data-led insights.
• Establish scheduling principles balancing customer needs and colleague experience.
• Lead optimisation of workforce management technology (e.g., Rotageek).
• Support business cases and change initiatives with workforce planning expertise.
• Create dashboards and reports in Excel/Power BI translating data into actionable recommendations.

Workforce Management Lead

Hybrid, Support Office / Pet Care Centres

Are you passionate about using data, insight and technology to make a real difference to colleagues and customers? We're looking for a Workforce Management Lead to help shape how we plan, deploy and optimise our workforce across our Retail business.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead workforce planning and labour productivity initiatives, ensuring we have the right colleague capacity in the right place at the right time. You'll work closely with teams across Retail Operations, Finance, People, Digital Operations and Operational Excellence, helping to improve colleague experience, operational performance and productivity.

What you'll be doing

• Developing workforce planning and forecasting models that support customer demand and trading patterns.
• Identifying opportunities to improve productivity and labour efficiency through data-led insights.
• Establishing workforce planning and scheduling principles that balance customer needs, colleague experience and operational requirements.
• Leading the optimisation of workforce management technology, including Rotageek and future workforce solutions.
• Supporting business cases, change initiatives and operational projects with workforce planning expertise.
• Creating meaningful dashboards and reports using tools such as Excel and Power BI, translating data into actionable recommendations.

What we're looking for

• Experience within Workforce Management, Resource Planning, Labour Optimisation, Operational Excellence or a similar field.
• Strong workforce forecasting, scheduling or resource planning experience within a fast-paced environment.
• Advanced analytical skills with experience using Excel, Power BI or equivalent reporting tools.
• A track record of delivering measurable productivity or efficiency improvements.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across multiple teams.

It would be great if you also ave

Multi-site retail experience.

Experience with Rotageek or similar workforce management systems.

Lean Six Sigma, continuous improvement or change management qualifications.
