Job summary

WMCA is offering a Procurement & Supply Chain Apprentice position within the Corporate Services procurement team in Birmingham. You will learn how procurement and contract management work in a large public sector organisation while gaining practical experience for your future career.

You'll undertake real work from day one, support procurement, contract management and compliance activities, and study the Level 4 CIPS apprenticeship alongside practical experience.

Qualifications

• Two A Levels or equivalent Level 3 qualification.
• GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above.
• Willingness to complete Level 4 CIPS Apprenticeship.
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Experience using Microsoft Office.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day procurement and contract management activities.
• Assist with procurement compliance and policy adherence.
• Collect and analyse information for decision-making and reporting.
• Maintain contract records and documentation.
• Engage with colleagues and stakeholders to answer routine queries.
• Develop budgeting and financial governance understanding.
