Workday Payroll Manager

We are searching for an experienced Workday Payroll Manager

Make an Impact at RSM UK

RSM Management Limited provides in-house payroll services for the RSM UK Group, working closely with the People Team, using proprietary software (Workday) with four payrolls encompassing circa 5,000 employees. The company both develops and supports its own applications as well as implementing other solutions.

This is a pivotal role reporting to the National Finance Leadership team, accountable for providing a premium service to our stakeholders. The position demands an experienced and technically skilled candidate that can drive payroll projects whilst also leading the accurate and timely completion of monthly and annual payroll operations in accordance with the tax and regulatory frameworks.

As a Payroll Manager in RSM's Gatwick office, you will build strong and enduring relationships with stakeholders, able to prioritise workloads and proactively manage expectations, leverage digital innovation and be an active problem solver to ensure the short-, medium-, and long-term success.

Regular data led reporting is a prerequisite covering performance indicators, project updates and the usual statutory, tax and compliance reporting.

You'll make an impact by:

  • Managing the team to ensure that they complete the monthly payrolls, internal financial reporting, system developments, relationships with other teams and employee development
  • Providing client centric care, delivering a premium service and cascading this to the wider team
  • Reviewing team performance and setting clear objectives, which are to be monitored on a regular basis
  • Sharing your knowledge within the team and manage/motivate the team to deliver high quality work, on time, to budget and to the firm's compliance requirements
  • Routine auditing and quality reviews

What we are looking for:

We value diverse experiences and perspectives. Here's what we're looking for in our ideal candidate:
  • 3 years+ experience managing a payroll team
  • Extensive working knowledge of Workday payroll software
  • Professional payroll qualifications or demonstratable experience
  • Detailed practical knowledge of statutory & legislative regulations, including workplace pensions
  • A thorough understanding of the technical details of payroll processing including but not limited to:
  • RTI
  • Maternity/paternity legislation/SMP/SPP
  • Absenteeism/SSP
  • Leavers/redundancies/compromise settlements
  • Court orders
  • P11Ds/P60s/P45s
  • Salary sacrifices
  • Application of NMW & NLW
  • Tax treatment of certain staff benefits
  • A keen eye for process improvements
  • People and system development
  • Confidentiality and legislative data obligations

What we can offer you:

We recognise that our people are our most important assets. That's why we offer a flexible reward and benefits package that will help you have fulfilling experience, both in and out of work.
  • Hybrid and Flexible working
  • 27 Days Holiday (with the option of purchasing additional days)
  • Lifestyle, Health, and Wellbeing including financial wellbeing benefits such as financial tools, electric car scheme and access to a virtual GP.
  • Access to a suite of 300+ courses on demand developed by our inhouse Talent Development team.
