Job summary

The Football Association (The FA) in England seeks an experienced Workday Functional Lead to own and optimise the Workday HCM/PY backlog, coordinating with Finance, HR and Digital Technology. You will translate business needs into prioritised Workday solutions and lead delivery with cross-functional teams and external partners.

Qualifications

• Deep Workday expertise across HCM, Payroll, Absence and Compensation modules.
• Experience with Workday feature release cycles and SaaS platform update adoption.
• Functional knowledge of HCM and Payroll processes, including employee lifecycle, absence, compensation and pay.
• Proven experience as a Product Owner, Functional Lead or Business Analyst in Agile teams.

Responsibilities

• Own and refine the Workday HCM/PY backlog with Product Managers and stakeholders.
• Translate business needs into Workday solutions across HCM, Absence, Compensation and Payroll.
• Lead backlog execution, configuration coordination and release validation.
• Act as HR Reporting and Analytics SME to align priorities with business decisions.
• Support tiered user support and administrative tasks across the Workday tenant.
• Create sprint plans, define backlog items, and enable sprint readiness.
• Coordinate with delivery teams and external partners to ensure value-driven outcomes.
