Responsibilities

• Manage and develop Employer and Workplace Experiences opportunities and systems for students.
• Collaborate with Employer Relationship Managers and curriculum teams to develop work placements.
• Contact employers to generate employer and workplace experiences opportunities for students.
• Support placement activity and ensure learners are supervised.
• Develop a broad base of employers to secure opportunities or identify job openings.
• Match learners with suitable work aspirations to opportunities.
• Be innovative in arranging Employer and Workplace Experiences.
• Support team objectives and enable positive destinations for students.
• Be flexible with busy employers.
• Visit and support students in placements.
• Identify talent pipelines with Employer Engagement.
• Plan and organise Employer and Workplace Experiences per student.
• Act as a point of contact between employer, students and course teams.

About The Role

The role is responsible for coordinating and developing the college's existing Employer and Workplace Experiences provision, alongside identifying and creating new opportunities that enhance learners' experiences and prepare them for progression into employment, further study and their chosen careers.

Based within the Faculty of Technical and Creative, the postholder will work collaboratively with curriculum teams and employers to develop robust, meaningful and high-quality opportunities that complement learners' programmes of study. The role will ensure that employer and workplace experiences are closely aligned to curriculum objectives and clearly support the development and acquisition of the skills, knowledge and behaviours relevant to each learner's area of study.

The role will also respond to the evolving needs of the college, employers and the wider Further Education sector, including changes arising from national FE curriculum reforms. The postholder will play an important role in strengthening employer engagement and ensuring that workplace experiences are purposeful, inclusive and provide genuine value to learners and their future career pathways.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage, maintain and develop Employer and Workplace Experiences opportunities and systems for students across college.
• Work in collaboration with the Employer Relationship Manager(s) and curriculum teams to develop work placement opportunities across the faculty.
• In conjunction with Employer Relationship Managers, contacting employers to generate employer and workplace experiences opportunities for students.
• Working alongside employers to ensure all parties are supported whilst on placement.
• To develop and maintain a broad base of employers to secure suitable Employer and Workplace Experiences and/or identify potential job opportunities post college.
• To work closely with students to identify their work aspirations in order to match them with suitable opportunities.
• To be innovative and enterprising in arranging Employer and Workplace Experiences to benefit the students.
• To work on one's own initiative and support the team's objectives including to facilitate and enable positive destinations for all the students.
• To be flexible particularly in dealing with busy employers.
• Visit and support students in placement as required.
• To work alongside the Employer Engagement department to identify where students on work experience may provide a talent pipeline.
• Work closely with learner managers and course tutors in planning and organising appropriate Employer and Workplace Experiences for each student.
• Act as a point of contact between the employer, students and course teams ensuring that learners have the correct supervision in placement.

Qualifications & Training

• A-Level or equivalent qualification
• Level 2 qualification (GCSE A* - C, or equivalent) in maths and English or a willingness to attain these qualifications with the support of the College
• IAG qualification at level 4 (Desirable)
