Job summary

Coleg Cambria, in partnership with The Supply Register, is recruiting a Work-Based Learning Practitioner – Carpentry & Joinery to support apprentices in the construction industry.

You will assess and coach Carpentry & Joinery apprentices, manage a caseload, and deliver practical and theory sessions, ensuring high-quality workplace learning experiences in Deeside. DBS check required.

Qualifications

• A Level 3 Carpentry & Joinery qualification (or equivalent)
• Significant industry experience within the Carpentry & Joinery sector
• Strong knowledge of site carpentry, bench joinery, and current industry practices
• Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills
• Be able to speak Welsh or be willing to learn alongside the role

Responsibilities

• Support and assess Carpentry & Joinery apprentices working towards industry-recognised qualifications
• Manage a caseload of learners, conducting training needs analyses and monitoring progress towards End Point Assessment
• Provide coaching, mentoring, and guidance to help learners achieve their full potential
• Deliver engaging practical and theory-based sessions on a one-to-one and small-group basis
• Work closely with employers to ensure apprentices receive high-quality workplace learning experiences
• Maintain accurate records and ensure all assessment activities meet awarding organisation requirements

What We’re Looking For

• Confidence using digital systems and software, including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
• A willingness to work towards relevant assessor, quality assurance, and professional development qualifications where required
• Be able to speak Welsh or be willing to learn alongside the role
