Job summary

Coleg Cambria is advertising a permanent, full-time Work based learning Practitioner in Carpentry and Joinery, based at Deeside. You will assess qualifications across the Carpentry and Joinery streams and support learners with coaching and portfolio development.

The role requires Welsh language ability or willingness to learn, a Level 3+ professional qualification, and progression towards TAQA assessor and QA qualifications, with strong industry links and commitment to quality standards.

Qualifications

• A professionally relevant qualification at minimum of Level 3 or equivalent.
• Possess or be willing to work towards an assessor qualification (TAQA).
• Possess or be willing to work towards a Quality Assurance qualification (Currently 401 TAQA Unit).
• Level 2 English/Welsh and Maths qualifications (or equivalent) at Grade 4 (C) or above.
• Possess or be willing to work towards a Digital Literacy Level 2 qualification.
• Experience in liaising and partnering with external managers in the industry.
• Be a Welsh speaker or willing to learn Welsh through a supported development plan.

Responsibilities

• Work with a caseload of learners and conduct a Training needs analysis.
• Enrol the learners on appropriate courses and provide coaching, mentoring and learning opportunities.
• Deliver underpinning knowledge sessions to learners either on a 1-1 or workshop basis (recommended maximum group size 8).
• Monitor learners' progress towards qualifications, give them constructive feedback, and guide them in preparing an e-portfolio of evidence.
• Assess learner portfolios and present completed portfolios for internal quality assurance.
