Job summary

Brook Street in Coventry is seeking an Outreach Domestic Abuse Practitioner to provide one-to-one practical and emotional support to women affected by domestic abuse and help them move toward safety. You will carry a caseload, conduct risk assessments, develop safety and support plans, advocate on housing, benefits, legal and welfare matters, and coordinate with partner agencies.

A driving licence and Enhanced DBS are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in domestic abuse outreach or women's services.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, risk assessment and multi-agency working.
• Empathetic, culturally sensitive and non-judgemental approach.
• Full driving licence and Enhanced DBS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one practical and emotional support to women affected by domestic abuse
• Complete risk assessments, safety plans and individual support plans
• Manage a caseload and regularly review service users' needs
• Provide advocacy, advice and support around housing, benefits, legal and welfare matters
• Identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns
• Make referrals and support women to access specialist services
• Work closely with statutory, voluntary and community agencies
• Support women from BAME/BAMER communities who may face additional barriers to accessing services
• Maintain accurate, confidential and professional case records
