A regional police service is seeking a Witness Care Officer in Plymouth to support victims and witnesses through their cases in court. The role requires managing complex workloads, conducting assessments, and collaborating with partners to deliver quality service. Candidates should have the ability to maintain accurate records and understanding of the Victims Code of Practice. This full-time position offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits.
Salary: £26,106 rising to £28,653 per annum + Excellent Benefits including Government Pension
Location: Plymouth Crown Court, Plymouth
Closing Date: 14/10/2025, Midday
Hours per week: This role is 37 hours per week. However, we welcome applications from individuals wishing to work on a part-time basis and we are willing to consider flexible working patterns subject to business need.
The principal responsibility of the Witness Care Officer is to provide a single point of contact for victims and witnesses in all Prosecution cases securing attendance in both Magistrates and Crown Courts. Delivering a quality service meeting individual needs and requirements contained within the No Witness No Justice requirement and the Victim’s Code of Practice, to have a positive influence on the willingness of victims and witnesses to attend court.
