Job summary

Amey Ltd in Peterhead, Scotland, is seeking Winter Patrol Drivers for a 6-month fixed-term contract from October to March. You will operate gritting vehicles, support essential highway maintenance, and contribute to keeping roads safe during challenging winter conditions.

Successful candidates will hold a valid HGV Class 2 Licence and Driver CPC, with strong teamwork, communication, and safety-mindedness. Training and induction are included, with potential for future opportunities in the North

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 2 Licence.
• Full Driver CPC qualification.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive and safety-conscious approach to work.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Previous winter maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate gritting vehicles and other specialist plant and equipment.
• Carry out winter maintenance activities including gritting, inspections and minor highway maintenance works.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects accurately.
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with health and safety procedures.
• Record time, resources and operational activities using company systems.
• Attend team briefings and contribute to safe, efficient operations.
• Work closely with colleagues, clients, emergency services and members of the public.
• Maintain accurate records and complete all required paperwork.
