Job summary

Amey Ltd. is recruiting Winter Patrol Drivers for the Nairn Depot to cover a fixed-term winter season. The role focuses on keeping roads safe and accessible during challenging weather, operating gritting vehicles and supporting highway maintenance.

You'll work as part of the NMC North East team from October to March, with training included. The position offers a pathway to development within Amey's road infrastructure portfolio and a supportive benefits program.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 2 Licence required.
• Full Driver CPC qualification required.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive and safety-conscious approach to work.
• Able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Previous winter maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate gritting vehicles and other specialist plant/equipment.
• Carry out winter maintenance activities including gritting and inspections.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Ensure work is carried out safely and in line with health & safety procedures.
• Record time, resources and activities using company systems.
• Attend team briefings and support safe, efficient operations.
• Collaborate with colleagues, clients, emergency services and the public.
• Maintain accurate records and complete paperwork.
