Job Description

Job Title: Wintel Engineer (Service)

Location: Stevenage (STE04)

Due to the nature of our support requirements, this is an office-based role.

The Role Will Involve
  • Technical Capability: Works within a team as an established systems/product specialist (e.g., detailed knowledge of configuration, implementing technical changes, building software regimes, contributing to service development) to support end users.
  • Process: Follows established processes, releasing verified, validated, and documented enhancements to improve service and eliminate problems.
  • Service Level: Recognizes opportunities for performance improvement, acts as a point of escalation, and monitors performance through reports and analysis.
  • Project Work: Implements technical designs within a team or under guidance to meet service delivery requirements.
  • Customer Relationship: Establishes relationships with customer organizations to deliver and improve services.
  • Problem Solving: Takes ownership of diagnosing and resolving complex problems, reports on performance, and maintains service quality.
  • Team Working: Trains and coaches team members, works collaboratively, and can act as team manager if needed.
  • Business Awareness: Understands customer requirements, scope of the contract, and reports opportunities for additional business.
  • Professional Development: Keeps up with technical and service developments, extends own knowledge.
  • Technical Skills: Systems installation/decommissioning (HSIN) Level 3, Service desk and incident management (USUP) Level 3, Problem management (PBMG) Level 3, System software (SYSP) Level 4, Change Management (CHMG) Level 3, Technical Specialism (TECH) Level 4, IT operations (ITOP) Level 3, Service acceptance (SEAC) Level 4, Security administration (SCAD) Level 4, Release and deployment (RELM).
