Job summary

Evodia Limited in Corsham, Wiltshire, is seeking a Contract WINTEL Engineer to design, deploy and maintain Windows-based infrastructure within a highly secure enterprise environment.

The role covers Windows Server 2012R2+, Active Directory, Group Policy, PKI, DNS, DHCP, SQL, and virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V). Strong PowerShell scripting, ITIL awareness, and clear documentation are required.

Qualifications

• Experience with Windows Server 2012R2 onward in secure, enterprise environments.
• Proven ability to manage AD, Group Policy, and MS enterprise services (PKI, DNS, DHCP, Exchange, SQL).
• Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
• Ability to produce comprehensive technical documentation and ITIL-based processes.
• Active SC clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server platforms (2012R2+).
• Manage AD, Group Policy, Exchange, SQL, DNS, DHCP, PKI and related services.
• Administer Windows in virtualised environments (VMware/Hyper-V).
• Perform patching, backups, restores, and troubleshooting to maintain health.
• Produce detailed design artefacts, build guides, and procedures.
• Support integration, testing, and commissioning of services.
• Collaborate with service management to resolve incidents and improve delivery.
• Contribute to automation and standardisation initiatives.

You'll contribute to the full lifecycle of enterprise services, ensuring systems are operational, secure, and optimised.,

• Installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows Server platforms (2012R2, 2016, and newer) across large enterprise settings.
• Managing essential Microsoft services such as Active Directory, Group Policy, Exchange, SQL, WSUS, PKI, DNS, DHCP, and supporting applications.
• Administering and supporting Windows environments in virtualised infrastructures, particularly with VMware or Hyper-V.
• Performing system patching, backups, restores, and troubleshooting to maintain system health.
• Producing detailed technical documentation, including design artefacts, build guides, and operational procedures.
• Supporting system integration, testing, and commissioning activities, ensuring all services meet operational and security standards.
• Working collaboratively with service management teams to investigate incidents, resolve issues, and optimise service delivery.
• Contributing to continual improvement initiatives through automation and standardisation.

Essential Skills

• Significant experience with Windows Server environments (2012R2, 2016, 2019, 2022) in enterprise and secure settings.
• Proven expertise managing Active Directory, Group Policy, and MS enterprise services such as PKI, DNS, DHCP, Exchange, and SQL.
• Extensive experience supporting Windows environments within virtualised platforms, VMware or Hyper-V.
• Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell.
• Ability to produce comprehensive technical documentation.
• Excellent troubleshooting abilities, analytical thinking, and clear communication.
• Understanding of ITIL service management principles.
• Active SC clearance.

Desirable Skills

• Experience within Defence or other sensitive public sector contexts.
• Knowledge of additional virtualisation platforms and tools such as SCCM or SCOM.
• Familiarity with networking fundamentals and Cisco technologies.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and Atlassian tools like JIRA and Confluence.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE, ITIL).

Up to £600 per day (Inside IR35)
