Nineteen38 Coffee, powered by Royal Voluntary Service, at Wimbledon Station, is seeking a part-time Retail Customer Assistant to join our team. You will be part of a busy cafe, serving customers, preparing drinks and food, and supporting volunteer-friendly operations with a smile.

The role covers 15 hours per week with flexible shifts and opportunities for overtime. GBP12.71/hour (£23,136 FTE per annum) reflects part-time arrangements at this Wimbledon location.

Qualifications

• Previous barista/cafe experience is advantageous.
• Demonstrates calm and professional conduct in fast-paced environments.
• Strong customer service and communication skills are essential.
• Knowledge of EPOS systems and basic food safety standards.
• Familiarity with Health & Safety procedures in a cafe setting.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and ability to work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, helpful, and efficient service at all times.
• Welcome customers, explain specials, take orders and process payments.
• Operate the till and perform cash reconciliation as needed.
• Prepare hot and cold drinks and freshly made foods.
• Maintain cleanliness and health and safety standards across the site.
• Assist with stock replenishment and daily deliveries as required.
• Engage with volunteers to ensure a positive volunteer experience.
