Job description

Wilnecote Parish, Tamworth, Lichfield Diocese

We are seeking a prayerful and compassionate vicar to lead and inspire us as we grow in faith, deepen our spiritual life, and share God's love in our community, (villages and beyond).

We are excited to grow together in worship, service, and fellowship. You'll find a supportive and committed church family eager to work alongside you.

We are looking for a vicar who:
  • Is approachable, reflective, and spiritually grounded.
  • Preaches the gospel with clarity and conviction.
  • Nurtures both personal faith and church life.
  • Enjoys engaging with young people and families.
  • Is enthusiastic about engaging with schools and reaching the young.
  • Will cherish and support our older members, honouring their faithfulness while helping them continue to flourish in worship and community life.
  • Will help us to discern and shape a vision for sustained growth.
  • Will build authentic relationships within a caring church family.
  • Will be a visible and approachable presence within the parish.
What We Can Offer a New Vicar

A warm, prayerful and supportive church family Holy Trinity Wilnecote is a friendly, down-to-earth congregation who genuinely care for their priest. We value partnership, honesty, and shared discipleship, and we are ready to welcome someone who will journey with us.

A committed leadership team Our churchwardens, PCC and volunteers are reliable, collaborative and eager to support your ministry. We have learnt a lot through the Interregnum, and you won't be left to carry everything alone - we believe in shared responsibility and clear communication.

Space to lead and space to breathe We understand the importance of a healthy work-life balance. We will respect your day off, protect your time for prayer and study, and work with you to ensure your ministry is sustainable.

A well-maintained vicarage on Glascote Lane offers a comfortable, large four-bedroom modern home with good space for family life and hospitality. The parish is committed to ensuring it remains a pleasant, welcoming place to live.

A parish with real opportunity Wilnecote is a community with deep roots and a strong local identity. There is genuine potential for growth in worship, discipleship, and community engagement. We offer a parish where your gifts can make a visible difference.

Strong community connections We have good relationships with local schools, the British Legion, community groups, and civic partners. You will be welcomed as a visible and valued presence in the wider community.

A church that values tradition and welcomes creativity We appreciate the richness of Anglican worship while being open to new ideas, new ways of engaging families, and fresh expressions of ministry.

Practical support as you settle in From a warm welcome to help with local orientation, we will ensure your first months are supported, steady and encouraging.

A congregation ready to grow We are hopeful, expectant, and ready to work with you to shape the next chapter of our parish life.

Are you the one we are looking for? If you feel called to lead us with faith, enthusiasm, and love, we would be delighted to hear from you.

All applicants should normally have 3 years' experience in the Church of England or another Anglican church in the British Isles.
