Job summary

The University of Bristol is seeking a proactive Widening Participation Officer to join our Widening Participation team. You will lead on projects and partnerships aimed at increasing access for students from disadvantaged backgrounds, with a focus on engaging Global Majority communities and those eligible for Free School Meals.

Working with schools, colleges, and internal stakeholders, you will monitor progress, contribute to our APP delivery, and develop activities that support recruitment,

Qualifications

• Experience working with marginalised, underrepresented or disadvantaged groups.
• Ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders across the University and externally.
• Experience designing and evaluating programmes and activity to improve access.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead on widening participation projects and initiatives with a focus on underrepresented groups.
• Recruit post-16 students from disadvantaged backgrounds, emphasising Global Majority communities.
• Coordinate communications, events and initiatives (e.g., advisory groups, conferences).
• Collaborate with schools, colleges and internal partners to monitor progress and inform APP activity.
• Support strategic delivery of the University's Access commitments across the APP period.
