Job summary

The Best Connection is seeking an experienced Wickman Automatic Lathe/AS14 Tornus Machine Operator for our established engineering client in Wednesbury. You will set up and run Wickman Automatic Lathe machines and AS14 Tornus equipment to produce precision components to customer drawings.

Working Mon-Fri, 07:00–15:00, with early finish every day and no weekend work, you will join a precision engineering team supplying automotive, aerospace and medical sectors.

Qualifications

• Experience setting and operating Wickman Automatic Lathe machines.
• Experience on AS14 Tornus machines.
• Able to work from engineering drawings and specifications.
• Demonstrate excellent attention to detail.

Job description

The Best Connection are currently recruiting for an experienced Wickman Automatic Lathe/AS14 Tornus Machine Operator on behalf of our established engineering client based in Wednesbury.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-respected precision engineering company that manufactures high-quality components supplied to the automotive, aerospace, and medical sectors.

Hours of Work

• Monday to Friday
• 07:00am - 3:00pm
• Early finish every day with no weekend work

Pay Rate

• From £15.00 per hour
• Higher rate available depending on skills and experience

The Role

You will be responsible for setting and operating specialist machinery, including:

• Wickman Automatic Lathes
• AS14 Tornus Machines

You will be producing precision-engineered components to customer specifications while maintaining high quality standards and production efficiency.

Candidate Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

• Have proven experience setting and operating Wickman Automatic Lathe machines
• Have experience working on AS14 Tornus machines
• Be able to work to engineering drawings and specifications
• Demonstrate excellent attention to detail
• Have a strong work ethic and a positive attitude
• Be reliable with excellent attendance and timekeeping
