As a Wholesale Team Manager, you’ll be a people-focused leader, taking full ownership of daily operations at our Distribution Centre. This management role is key to ensuring an inclusive, high-performing workplace that reflects our company values. You'll be responsible for all aspects of people management: driving performance, supporting development, and fostering a positive culture. Delivering exceptional service to both internal and external customers, leading continuous improvement, and motivating and rewarding your team will be central to your success. This is a full time, permanent role, working 42.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday. This role is based at our Distribution Centre, Treleigh Industrial Estate.
You'll help us by;
- Oversee a specific area within the Distribution Centre (e.g., picking, packing, intake, returns, quality or stock control), ensuring operational targets are met efficiently and effectively.
- Handle all aspects of people management including recruitment, performance reviews, development plans, absence management, and disciplinary processes in line with company policies.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and respectful work environment by acting as a role model, upholding company values, and fostering a safe, dignified workplace.
- Track team performance against KPIs, ensuring targets are consistently met and providing regular feedback through 1-2-1s and appraisals.
- Maintain strong floor presence, engaging professionally with team members daily to support morale and productivity.
- Allocate resources and manage work plans to optimise efficiency, including handling administrative tasks relevant to your department.
- Support and lead operational improvement projects, collaborating with the leadership team to drive innovation and process enhancements.
- Liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders, support cross-departmental teamwork, and attend meetings or training as needed.
- Ensure a safe working environment by managing H&S procedures, security protocols, and promoting good housekeeping standards across the DC.
- Be adaptable in covering other departments or shifts when required, contributing to the wider success of the DC through shared leadership and problem-solving.
The skills you'll be sharing with the team;
- Experience of working in a fast-paced team environment
- Demonstratable experience of fostering a great culture and inclusive working environment
- Working to deadlines / targets
- Experience of working with AX and other warehouse systems
- Excellent communication skills to facilitate effective communication between all Treleigh warehouse operations and managers, ensuring comprehensive handovers
- The ability to navigate difficult conversations and deliver feedback that may not always be positive, whilst keeping team members engaged in their roles
- Good planning and organisational skills
- Great team working and collaboration skills
- Flexibility to move between Treleigh warehouses on a regular basis, including adjusting working hours to assist with key pieces of work or to cover annual leave and sickness
- Team management or supervisory experience
- Driving performance and KPIs through team engagement and clear instructions
