Job summary

Barclay Simpson is recruiting on behalf of a fast-growing UK challenger bank for a Financial Modelling Manager to support wholesale banking expansion, focusing on structured lending, CRE and warehouse finance.

The role involves building cash-flow models, data analysis, developing modelling tools, and presenting insights to senior Finance, Treasury and Wholesale teams; hybrid work with 3 days in the office, early-stage platform development.

Qualifications

• Hands-on cash-flow modelling experience in capital markets or structured lending.
• Experience building and manipulating financial models, not just reviewing them.
• Strong data handling and modelling tool development capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Build cash-flow models for CRE, warehouse finance, and other structured lending deals.
• Analyse underlying loan and asset-level data to assess transaction viability.
• Review and cleanse data tapes for prospective transactions.
• Perform DCF, NPV, IRR, ROE and hurdle-rate analyses.
• Run sensitivity, stress and scenario analyses across assumptions.
• Assess leverage, repayment profiles, asset performance and transaction economics.
• Develop new modelling tools and frameworks to support growth of wholesale business.
• Improve scalability and automation of models as volumes rise and present outputs to leadership.
