Job summary

Mid Devon District Council is seeking a Full-Time Recreation Assistant (Wetside) in Crediton to help provide safe, welcoming leisure facilities for visitors. You will guard the pool, assist customers, and uphold cleanliness and safety standards across the site.

The role includes working 37 hours weekly on a 4-week rota, with a salary of £26,403–£28,142 and opportunities for progression within the leisure service.

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer-facing environment is essential.
• Able to work well in a team and adapt to changing situations.
• Enthusiasm for developing a career in the leisure sector.
• NPLQ is preferred; training can be provided if needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide lifeguard cover and ensure pool user safety.
• Deliver high levels of customer service and a positive visitor experience.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation across facilities.
• Follow health and safety procedures and operating guidelines at all times.
