Job summary

A UK-based animal conservation organization is seeking a motivated volunteer for a 6-month position assisting with animal husbandry tasks. The role includes daily cleaning, diet preparation, and creating enrichment for various species. Candidates should have a keen interest in animal care and work well in a team. The position is one day a week, from 8am to 5pm.

Job description

This is a one day a week voluntary position lasting 6 months, working from 8am until 5pm (winter hours may vary).

• Andean Bears
• African Lions
• Giant Anteater
• Six-banded Armadillo
• Lowland Tapirs
• Capybara
• Mara
• Poison Dart Frogs
• Ring-tailed Coatis

Placement details

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to join our committed and friendly team of volunteers.

We welcome applications from candidates with a keen interest in animal husbandry and conservation. Candidates should also be able to demonstrate that they are team oriented, hardworking, proactive, and positive in their attitude to all tasks. This placement will mainly be based around our Viva South America exhibit, but there may be the opportunity to gain experience with the other species on section. Candidates will be required to always follow safe working practices and security protocols when working around Category 1 dangerous animals.
