TeacherActive is recruiting a Welsh Teacher for a high-performing secondary school in Caerphilly. You will deliver engaging Welsh lessons across KS3 and KS4, including GCSE Welsh, under the leadership of the department head.

The role is long-term with a view to permanent placement for the right candidate. A passion for Welsh language and culture is essential, with involvement in extra-curricular activities encouraged.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a Welsh or language specialism.
• Experience teaching Welsh to KS4 / GCSE level.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging Welsh lessons across KS3 and KS4 including GCSE Welsh.
• Follow and implement the school’s schemes of learning.
• Support pupils’ linguistic and cultural development and exam techniques.

The Head Teacher is seeking a driven and enthusiastic Welsh Teacher to join the school on a long-term basis, with the potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.

The Role:

The successful Welsh Teacher will deliver engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4), including GCSE Welsh. This is a key role within the department, helping pupils develop their linguistic skills, cultural awareness, and exam techniques, while following and implementing the school’s schemes of learning.

The successful Welsh Teacher will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a Welsh or language specialism (ECTs / NQTs welcome to apply)
• Experience teaching Welsh up to KS4 / GCSE level
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities
• A genuine passion for Welsh language, culture, and teaching
• Willingness to support extra-curricular Welsh or cultural activities
