Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a welcoming Welsh-medium Flying Start childcare provision based in Swansea. We are seeking a Welsh-speaking Level 3 Flying Start Practitioner to support 2-3 year olds with engaging activities and language development.

The role offers long-term and short-term placements with flexible hours. You will deliver play-based learning, maintain a safe environment, and collaborate with staff and families to promote Welsh language skills.

Qualifications

• Fluent Welsh speaker with Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Learning and Development.
• Experience working with 2–3 year olds in early years/Flying Start settings.
• Sound knowledge of child development, safeguarding and Curriculum for Wales.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities for 2–3 year olds.
• Support Welsh language development through play and interaction with children, staff and families.
• Maintain a safe, stimulating environment and work effectively as part of a team.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a welcoming Welsh-medium Flying Start childcare provision based in Swansea. This established early years setting provides a nurturing and engaging environment for young children, with a strong focus on developing confidence, independence and Welsh language skills through play-based learning.

The setting is looking for Welsh Speaking Level 3 Flying Start Practitioners on long-term and short term basis, offering flexible working hours. The successful Flying Start Practitioner will support children aged 2-3 years, delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities, encouraging Welsh language development and ensuring a safe, stimulating environment that supports children's individual learning and development.

The successful Welsh Speaking Level 3 Flying Start Practitioner will have:

• Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Learning and Development or an equivalent recognised childcare qualification
• Fluency in Welsh, with the ability to communicate confidently with children, colleagues and parents
• Experience working within an early years, nursery or Flying Start childcare setting
• Sound knowledge of child development, safeguarding and the Curriculum for Wales
• A caring, patient and enthusiastic approach to supporting young children's development
• Flexibility, reliability and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
