Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a Welsh-speaking Learning Support Assistant to support pupils in Welsh-medium primary schools across Cardiff. Start ASAP / September 2026. Pay £93 per day, with full-time, part-time and flexible supply options.

You will work one-to-one and in small groups to reinforce learning, support pupils with ALN where appropriate and promote the Welsh language throughout the school day. Training and ongoing support are provided; prior experience is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

• Fluent Welsh speaker with excellent verbal and written communication.
• Patient, caring and supportive nature.
• Previous experience is helpful but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in Welsh-medium classrooms.
• One-to-one and small group learning reinforcement.
• Support learners with ALN where appropriate.
• Encourage confidence, independence and positive behaviour.
• Promote use of the Welsh language throughout the school day.
• Assist teachers with lesson prep and activities.
• Help create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
